Bike shops on the borough boundary but not technically in Hackney
Quite a few of our bike shops are on the borough boundary. One is just outside Hackney on the Islington side:
The others, on the Hackney side, are Sargent and Co. and Micycle East.
The art of framebuilding is experiencing a renaissance, and in Hackney we have our share of excellent craftspersons practising it. Unfortunately, good premises for framebuilding are hard to find, and with current Hackney rents we don’t have as many builders here as we would like–a few of them live in Hackney but work elsewhere (such as Caren Hartley), and a few have recently moved out of the borough (Stayer Cycles, Kennedy City Bicycles).
