Phase 2 of the route from Lea Bridge to Dalston is being consulted on, and offers very positive improvements.

The first phase of the route was consulted upon earlier in the year, and it included some improvements for cycling, such as a crossing across Kingsland High Street from Sandringham Road. However, it didn’t contain additional filters to reduce motor traffic along the route. See discussion on cyclescape.

Phase 2 takes things up a notch, with significant changes to Lea Bridge roundabout, protected lanes on Lea Bridge Road, and filters on Powell Road to reduce motor traffic. The route will join up with the existing cycle lanes on Lea Bridge Road in Waltham Forest.

We support the proposals, and encourage you to complete the consultation, which is open until the 29th November.
